Why the UKC (United Kennel Club)?

For years many of us, breeders and owners alike, have believed that the AKC (American Kennel Club) was the only organization for the registration of purebred dogs.  One day I decided to investigate the UKC, the United Kennel Club, and now provide dual registry for all dogs.  (Please click the following logo to access their website at ukcdogs.com)

I won't bore you by going into all the information available on their homepage, you can review that for yourself.

However, I must tell you that they have been around for 100 years, and register over a quarter of a million dogs per year.

The primary reason that I have determined to register all my puppies with the UKC is their commitment to the total well-being of our canine friends.

They are fully opposed to "puppy mills", they are concerned for the health and well being of all dogs, and they require all breeders to subscribe to a "Breeders Code of Ethics".

This code can be referenced on their home page as well.  I became very teary-eyed when I read it for the first time, because I had finally found an organization that believed in the same high standards as mine.
